Process Development Technician

Job Location: College Park, Maryland

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description: HighT-Tech is actively seeking a Catalyst Technician to join our cutting-edge catalysts manufacturing team. The new hire would be trained on the job with excellent growth opportunity. Catalyst Technician will perform critical thermal processing activities on catalysts manufacturing. Assignments are closely supervised and designed to further develop employee job knowledge and abilities.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to the development of advanced catalysts.

  • Support catalyst synthesis and scale-up activities in the pilot catalyst product line.

  • Make pilot scale production of catalysts; Prepare samples for analyses and evaluations and maintain equipment and lab space while operating under standards for environmental and employee safety.

  • Operate and share maintenance duty of pilot plant equipment with other group members.

  • Perform the necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure areas of responsibility are properly stocked.

  • Collect and record data to include using Word, PowerPoint, various online SharePoint sites and Excel spreadsheets for data recording, data processing and data/project reporting.

  • Work safely with chemicals/materials and wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for the job.

  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety requirements and do all required safety training.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BS/BA degree in technical field; or High School diploma with 1-2 years relevant laboratory, manufacturing, or skilled trade experience

  • Ability to make detailed observations during production and report to supervisor with effective communication skills

  • Must be able and willing to frequently lift and move heavy objects and containers up to 40 lbs

  • Must be able to work in the pilot plant and operate pilot equipment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude or strong interest to learn about medium to large size equipment

  • Experience following safety protocols and standards while handling hazardous materials

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
